Planes, Trains or Automobiles?

Friday December 14, 2007

I love to drive. Perhaps that's because I was born in California, or maybe it's because I like to explore country roads and small towns. Our cars are getting older, though, and so we sometimes rent a car for long-distance trips.

I also enjoy train travel, but, for a family, it's more economical to travel by car. Train travel is a splurge for us, so it becomes part of the travel adventure rather than a means to an end.

Sometimes it's hard to choose the best way to get to your destination. Each transportation option has advantages and drawbacks. Here are some things to consider when selecting your mode of travel.
