Share Your Favorite Pastimes With Your Grandkids
Last June, my son traveled across the country to visit his grandparents. My dad is a talented woodworker, and my son is very interested in learning to build things and turn wood on a lathe. They spent about a week together, working on basic techniques and building a shelf for our family’s DVD player. I know my son really enjoyed learning from his grandfather, and my parents loved having him all to themselves.
Several years ago, my parents took my son to a space shuttle launch. My son is fascinated by aviation and space travel. As a surprise, my father got tickets to a launch, and my parents met my son in Florida for a few days of space-related travel. They watched the launch and visited Kennedy Space Center. My son has never forgotten that special trip, and he talks about it often.
Sharing a hobby with grandchildren is a great way to create lasting memories. It’s easy to travel and introduce grandkids to your favorite pastimes, and the possibilities are nearly endless.

I share Geocaching (www.geocaching.com) with my Grandson who is 10 years old, it’s a nice little game of Hide & Seek and a little Treasure Hunt thrown in.
