Discounts for Single Senior Travelers

Tuesday January 15, 2008

It's a fact of life. Single travelers usually pay more, thanks to the "single supplement." Finding a single-friendly tour or cruise can be a real challenge. This month, I discovered a couple of travel bargains aimed at single travelers. If you're planning a trip and traveling solo, you might want to take a look.

Tauck World Discovery has lowered or eliminated the single supplement on some of its 2008 departures. I checked the list of itineraries to see which trips were discounted. You can choose from trips to Canada, the U.S. and Europe. You can find the "singles specials" departure dates on Tauck's website or call them to get the details.

If you're based in the UK and want to take a cruise, Solos Holidays is offering three Caribbean all-inclusive cruises. You might want to look at Solos' other trips, too. This travel company only accepts single travelers as customers. They offer trips for different age ranges, such as 30-59 years and 45+ years. Solos also places all of its single travelers in separate bedrooms, so you won't have to worry about sharing your room with a snoring stranger.

If you've found a great bargain for single seniors, please share it with us at our senior travel forum. We'd love to hear about your latest travel adventures.
