I don’t see any water, bad or otherwise. I and the sign is a problem. It looks to me like it says 282 FEET/855 Meters. Unless there’s a tiny decimal point in the meter figure that I can’t see, it’s not even close to right.

Not a drop of water in sight. That’s what I always expected the Death Valley to look like.
Why do I have this sudden compulsion to drink about five glasses of water?
Great reminder of why we left the desert and moved to the northwest!
Now, I love desert scenery! The colors are just amazing. We drove the Artist’s Palette road in Death Valley (nowhere to park for photo stops, unfortunately) and the colors of the rocks were just amazing – greens, golds, pinks, reds…Protracted rain, on the other hand, sends this native southern Californian into a funk.
We’re having a big drought in Georgia. Unfortunately, this photo could be a lake near Atlanta (except for the elevation!)
