Zoom Airlines Ceases Operations
BBC News is reporting that Zoom Airlines, a low-cost carrier that flew between the U.K., Europe, the U.S. and Canada, has suspended operations, effective today.
In its press release, Zoom cited the high cost of jet fuel as the main reason for the shutdown.
The shutdown came with practically no warning, according to the BBC, and some passengers have been left without a way to return home from their travels. Virgin Atlantic and British Airways are offering "special fares" to stranded Zoom passengers.
