If you're anything like me, you're still trying to figure out the whole water park phenomenon. Hotel chains, resorts and amusement parks are adding water parks to their properties at a dizzying speed. For those of us who were thrilled by a simple hose and sprinkler, the water park phenomenon can be a little overwhelming.
Water parks are fun for children of any age. Infants and young children love to float on a lazy river with a loving grandparent or splash in a kiddie pool. Older children can enjoy a variety of water slides and wave pools. Parents and grandparents can indulge their taste for adventure, too.
I've just returned from my third trip to Holiday World's Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana. I enjoy this water park more each time I visit. It's family-run, squeaky-clean and well-organized. They give you free sunscreen and free fountain drinks, so hydration and protection are easily managed.
While at Splashin' Safari, I noticed many grandparent / grandchild groups. I loved seeing the joyful smiles on each child's face, regardless of location in the park. I saw happy toddlers in the wave pool and grinning teens and grandparents on water slides. A water park visit can, indeed, be a wonderful grandparent / grandchild outing. Our tips for planning a trip to the water park with your grandchildren can help you make the most of your splash-filled outing.
