The National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. is a fitting tribute to the men and women who served in this worldwide conflict. You can get a closer look at the National World War II Memorial in our photo tour.
91 years have passed since the Allied and German generals signed the armistice that ended World War I. Today, Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we honor those who served their countries with parades, memorial services and celebrations. Today's the perfect day to thank the veterans you know for their service.

Nice shot, Nancy! I would love to be able to take my dad, a WWII veteran, to see this memorial.
To all veterans: Thank you for your service.
That is a lovely photo, and it is perfect for today. When I lived in D.C., this memorial was not complete. The first time I returned and saw it, I was moved. The photo brought back a beautiful memory for me.
Fitting photo choice for Veteran’s Day.
Today really is a day to remember and contemplate just what the world would have become if people had not served to protect their countries and ideals. A prayer of thanks to all who have served and are serving now.
This is high on my “want to visit” list. I have been to Washington several times, but all my visits were prior to this memorial’s construction.
These monuments ought to serve to remind us of the sacrifices which result with war and to seek more peaceful resolutions. In war no one wins.
Very nice photo, Nancy. Thanks for remembering our veterans!
