Undiscovered Towns in Germany

I had so much fun writing about my favorite Italian towns last week that I decided to "travel" north and write about more of my favorite places. This week, I'm happy to share some of my favorite German towns with you, some of which are well-known and others you've probably never heard about. I hope you'll enjoy reading about some of Germany's "undiscovered" towns.

The castle in this photo is Trifels Castle, which stands above Annweiler am Trifels in western Germany.

Three of my faves made your list. In fact I was going to recommend Bad Munster am Stein. We did a volksmarch there last month. Their Weinachtsmarkt is one of the nicest one’s we’ve visited. Not big, but friendly and cute. Another cool thing about Burg Trifels – it’s right under a NATO low level route. I’ve seen Tornados, Mirages, F-16s and even C-130s scoot by low and fast practicing their low level nav.
