Travel Photo of the Week: Akershus Slott, Oslo

By November 21, 2012

Follow me on:

This photo was taken from Akershus Slott, a fortress overlooking Oslo Harbor. Akershus Slott's original buildings date from the early 14th century. More fortifications were added over the centuries, creating a large military complex, part of which is still used by Norway's Ministry of Defense. At Akershus Slott, you'll also find Norway's Resistance Museum and Armed Forces Museum.

To see more scenes of Norway, take our photo tour of Oslo, Kirkenes and Vadsø.

In our disposable society, It’s so interesting to visit countries that have such a long heritage and have preserved and maintained that heritage.

Pretty buildings. And I really like how the yellow tree stands out.
