The White Pass and Yukon Route is one of over 200 International Historic Civil Engineering Landmarks, as designated by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The railroad was built in a very short time under extremely difficult conditions. In all, over 35,000 men helped build the White Pass and Yukon Route, connecting coastal Skagway with Canada's Yukon Territory. While some of the original trestle bridges are no longer used, you'll travel across several canyons during your rail journey.
