The National WWII Museum opened as The National D-Day Museum on the anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 2000, in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2003, the Museum became The National WWII Museum. The Museum's exhibits, artifacts, programs, staff and volunteers bring the American World War II experience to life for each visitor.
