Some Falls Road murals are quite disturbing. One reads, "Support the Turkish Hunger Strike - She was inspired by Bobby Sands," and depicts an emaciated woman. Many murals express support for rebel - and even terrorist - actions around the world. Still others, such as the West Belfast Taxi Tours mural at the far right of this photo, are advertisements.

Just as Shankill Road is the most famous loyalist street, Falls Road is the best-known nationalist thoroughfare. Falls Road, too, is lined with murals.
