Create a Telephone Contact Card

By Nancy Parode, About.com

If you need to replace your passport, how will you find out where to go? Creating a telephone contact card will help you solve this problem.

A telephone contact card is easy to make. Simply type or write a list of contact names and telephone numbers, including country codes. Your contact list could include family members, your health insurance provider, your travel agent or tour company and the U.S. embassy in the country you plan to visit. You'll need to visit the embassy in person if you need a replacement passport.

If your list is long, you can reduce its size by using a smaller font in your word processor or by using the reduction feature on a copy machine. You can also make a two-sided copy of your list. The card will be easy to carry if you make it the size of a credit card.

Consider laminating the card to make it last longer. Buy laminating film or sleeves at office supply stores. You don’t need any special equipment to use the film; simply peel off the backing and apply the film to your card.
