Sea Level Sign at Stovepipe Wells

From Nancy Parode, About.com

If you enter the park from points west, Stovepipe Wells will probably be your first stop.

Most visitors pause here to stretch their legs and get their bearings. There's a small store and a gas station here, as well as the ranger station where you pay your park entrance fee. You can camp here in cooler months, and you can park your RV here at any time of year.
